UPC To Bring John Candy To Rococo Theater

“We realize that we’ve disappointed the students so far this year. What with multiple cancellations, a lack of acts students care about, poor advertising, and a general misuse of funds, students have naturally become upset. However, getting Mr. Candy to come to Lincoln is a massive victory.”
Though the comedian has been dead for nearly two decades, student response has been immediate and positive. Many seem unaware that he is deceased.
“I can’t wait to see him, man,” said senior Guy MacKaye. “He was in 'Blues Brothers' and 'Cool Runnings.' Both of those are the greatest movies ever made!”
Tickets are $35, much higher than the previous shows UPC has put on. Meis has blamed this on “facility costs,” saying that, in the event the show is cancelled, only $5 of the ticket price will be refunded.
“Unfortunately, we can make no guarantees of the event actually taking place,” said Meis. “Sadly, that is just the reality.”
Candy, interred in Culver City, Calif., had no comment regarding the announcement of the show.
UPC, however, is optimistic about this.
"We've had so many people cancel on us, and Aziz Ansari was the final straw. It is time for UPC to prove its commitment and massive budget to serving the students of UNL. With this show, we are doing just that."
