A recent Gallup Poll found a vast majority of Americans prefer the satirical, late night television version of Sarah Palin to the actual candidate.

A whopping 67 percent of the U.S. said it would feel more comfortable if “Saturday Night Live” actress Tina Fey, playing the part of the Republican vice presidential nominee, were to ascend to the second most powerful office in the country.

“She’s got the experience -- she’s been doing Weekend Update for eight years,” said Melina Boortz, a 21-year-old advertising major at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Boortz cited the SNL segment as her favorite news source, behind “South Park” and that self-assured, long-winded,slightly douchebaggy guy in her political science class who always talks and quotes random news articles, even when the teacher doesn’t ask him to.

“I totally have it in me to run this country,” said Fey in an interview from this month’s Rolling Stone.

“I mean, it seems like the only requirement to be McCain’s running mate is to be assertive and charasmatic. I've got that nailed.”

“Plus, when I tell a joke during an interview or a debate, it’ll actually be funny,” she added.
