Husker fans are preparing to learn some new defensive looks this weekend at the annual football spring game. Last month, Carl Pelini announced the creation of a new base defense called the “Peso.” Yesterday, Pelini announced two more currency-based defensive sets, the Euro and the Jamaican Dollar.

“Well as you all know by now, Eric Haag will be the feature back in our new base defense, the Peso,” explained Pelini. “We came up with a couple new sets to feature other guys as well.”

According to Carl Pelini, his brother and head Coach, Bo, has become an avid coin collector this past off-season and has requested that everything involving the defense be given currency-based names.

“The names are representative of who the featured backs on the field will be,” said Pelini. “When we run the Euro, you are going to see more of our linebackers like Compton, and then the Jamaican Dollar will of course feature [Futuregreenbaypacker] Dejon Gomes.”
