Demi Moore, who will again play Swayze's on-screen wife, said Tuesday, "Patrick you are loved by so many and your light will forever shine in all of our lives," alluding to how this film is likely to be at least as big as the first and will live on for a long time.
"Patrick was a really good man, a funny man and one to whom I owe much that I can't ever repay," said Whoopi Goldberg, who was also in the first Ghost movie and looks likely to be in the sequel. "I believe in Ghost's message, so he'll always be near," she continued, dropping a hint about his upcoming presence in "Ghost 2".
In an interview last October with the New York Times, Patrick Swayze addressed the criticism that his character appears to die in the first film, making a sequel impossible. “How do you nurture a positive attitude when all the statistics say you’re a dead man? You go to work,” he said.
During a recent interview with Barbara Walters, he was asked directly if there was any chance we'd see a Ghost sequel. “I keep my heart and my soul and my spirit open to miracles,” Swayze told Walters.
Most recently, friends and loved ones were seen gathering at a cemetery where it is rumored Patrick Swayze will be filming a scene in which his character, thought dead at the end of the previous movie, will likely come back to life in a stunning moment that could only happen in Hollywood.
