In a joint press conference with NY Gov David Paterson Monday afternoon, President Obama again asked Paterson to refrain from running for re-election. In a lighter moment, Obama also had to ask the governor to literally step aside, when Paterson was standing on his shoelace.

“Step aside, Governor, if you could,” President Obama requested. After Paterson stepped onto even more of the lace, Obama corrected him. “No, the other way.” Paterson changed direction, then proceeded to wander out the open door on the side of the building.

Later, Paterson claimed that his dazed walk was prompted when he thought he heard a white man talking down to a minority six blocks away.
