Nebraska Fans Excited To Begin Heisman Campaign For Jermarcus Hardrick

One year after Nebraska Cornhusker fans forced Ndamukong Suh into the national Heisman Trophy discussion through an onslaught of online votes, e-mail harassments to pundits and bombing message boards, they have decided to set their sights on another lineman to lift into the limelight. The Nebraska faithful have decided that whether the rest of the sports world likes it or not, junior college transfer Jermarcus Hardrick is headed to New York in December and potentially headed for a Heisman Trophy.

Hardrick plays offensive tackle – a position not typically characterized by measurable statistics – and is therefore an even more bizarre choice for a Heisman Trophy than Suh was in 2009. Husker fans remain adamant, however, that he is their man.

“Have you seen the dude?” said James Arlington, a senior at Nebraska. “He is a fucking truck. He’s got the anger in his eyes. He is going to get all 10 spots in top plays on Sports Center every week.”

While his candidacy for the Heisman Trophy seems outlandish to some, Husker fans have shown their tenacity when it comes to online voting, and will surely guarantee his name being mentioned in December at the Heisman Trophy Ceremony in New York.
