NCAA Investigates Alex Henery For Steroid Abuse

Ever since becoming immortalized in Husker football lore two years ago in the game against Colorado, Alex Henery has been hounded by rumors and accusations. Henery will enter spring ball as the most scrutinized player in the Nebraska locker room. Coaches have even taken measures to limit the media’s access to Henery following spring practices. Why all the trouble? The husker kicker is currently being investigated for violating the NCAA steroid policy.

The 6’2” senior kicker comes into the spring at a whopping 175 lbs. This will mark the first time in his football career with Nebraska where his weight is a higher figure than his jersey number (90). The NCAA first took interest in Henery when a youtube video surfaced of him kicking field goals with room to spare from the opposite end zone.

“After pretty much making up the entire offense last season, he said he was going to spend the winter bulking up,” said long snapper P.J. Mangieri. “He said there were a dozens of drives that ended on our own 30 that ended in punts, when they should have been field goals. I just had no idea how huge he would end up getting.”

Pending no infractions from the NCAA, Alex Henery and his new weight should be in line to shatter every kicking record at Nebraska this season, as he looks to once again be the focal point of the Husker offense.
