LBP 2 | Game Review
| Published Feb 1, 2011
Experienced creators need not worry about their presence in the LBP community; all levels and prizes are completely in-tact and transfer easily to the new disc. Sackboy and all the seemingly hand-made objects in Craft World have been polished and freshly animated. The new tools at your disposal create an entirely new dimension to the game. Simply by adjusting camera angles and adding power-ups like the grabinator, the grapple, and vehicle seats have opened up the possibilities to even farther into “endless” than ever before.
The only factors that turned me off to the first game were the little annoyances involving loading times and unnecessary, time-consuming processes with creation. This time around, the cries of the creators have been answered, and although it may be a bit more complex, the tutorials are much more in-depth and intuitive.
There is one addition to the story portion of LBP that irks me a bit. They’ve developed an entire storyline with spoken dialogue during each silly cut-scene. It is neat that creators are now open to make their own cut scenes, but I feel in the long run it only become tiresome. All together, LBP 2 is a must for anyone who was serious about the first one. It’s perfectly polished and updated for the next generation of unbelievable imaginations.
