After finding hundreds of bodies across the United States ritually perforated with handgun bullets over the past few months, the FBI finally announced yesterday the details of a serial killer they have dubbed the “Handgun Killer”. Thought to be connected to the murder of over 350 people, the suspected death count of the Handgun Killer continues to grow as cold cases are re-examined for hints of bullet perforation.

“We are dealing with a highly motivated, highly dangerous individual who appears to target nearly every demographic in every part of the United States, sometimes committing more than one murder at almost exactly the same time,” said FBI chief Robert Mueller in a press conference yesterday.

“Because of this person’s careful planning and execution, countless innocent people have taken the fall for crimes they did not commit. With the help of the American public, the FBI hopes to catch this person,” Mueller added.

A favorite tactic of the Handgun Killer is to pick someone almost at random from a high-crime area and murder them in cold blood while a gang dispute is going on nearby. The Handgun Killer has also been known to borrow the gun, ammunition, and DNA of known criminals and attempt to frame them for the murder.

Naomi Talbert knows all too well how malicious the Handgun Killer can be. Her husband was one of the killer’s victims.

“Six months ago, my husband Leonard was cleaning his guns in the basement when the Handgun Killer snuck in through a window, shot Leonard point blank in the chest, and then carefully replaced the gun and cleaning rag, exiting through the same window before I could even make it down the stairs to see if Leonard was alright,” Talbert said during an interview on 60 Minutes.

“What kind of animal would commit such a sadistic act?” Talbert added.

Because of the occasionally simultaneous nature of the Handgun Killer’s crimes, many have wondered if perhaps there were one or more copycat killers operating in separate parts of the US. In response to this rumor, the FBI posted a letter on their website.

“There are no indications that there might be more than one perpetrator in the Handgun Killer case,” the letter reads. “The precision with which bullets have been launched into various vital parts of the human anatomy in all of the murders in this case suggest an amount of intentionally poor marksmanship that would be impossible to reproduce.”
