In its first year, “Seeds” has gained much more ground than I could have ever predicted. Hesitantly sending off the final design and content every other week has been nothing short of a labor of love. What I’ve been most pleased with, in retrospect, is the feedback the entertainment staff has received for pieces and interviews contrived from nothing but passion and fandom, not a paycheck in sight. As I said in the year’s first note, we have enough invested in these artists and their mediums that we’re eagerly sharing, planting “seeds” of interest where possible.

Our final issue offers a preview of what to crowd around, and what to avoid this summer. Get some sunlight in the coming months; blast those tunes. When the sun retreats, curl up with your fling and catch a flick, concert, or maybe even one of the increasingly popular music fests across the nation. Although “Seeds” won’t be available again in print until the fall, we’ll be keeping up with the action as it happens through our blog on Tumblr and Facebook, along with working in tandem with HearNebraska.org to bring you more local news and interviews throughout the summer.
Thanks to everyone who has given “Seeds” a comfortable reception as a formidable sister publication to The DailyER Nebraskan. We look forward to the future. Have a summer.
