Entertainment Editors Note 2/15

Someone is hurting for some change. It’s either the homeless hoard or the padded cupboard. The Egyptians lead the way as we strive to re-mold our bodies, destroy our minds, and re-write the national anthem. I’ll push a quote from this week’s featured album in reviews, “It’s on now. The days are long now. The ups and the sundowns, and the twisted mind.” Things keep moving, and who’s around to stop them? The yuppies are changing from AT&T to Verizon, the “Digg”ers are beginning to “Reddit”, and Obama is weening himself off the patch.

If we don’t have someone or something to reshape throughout the day, we’re left restless, watching Cash Cab as our Newsfeed crawls down the page. I’m in no real hurry. Some recently acquired perspective has slowed my roll in the race to skip grad school. Maybe 13 years of college could be something I could recover from, in terms of my liver and my wallet.

Seniors, if college is getting you down, spend some time with your family. No matter how often you do it, there’s something refreshing about how a place you can forget your keys and mercilessly raid the fridge still exists. Freshman, if college is getting you down, get your shoes on and go berate the crazy lady in the blue coat; you both enjoy the attention. These 5-ish years of my time will and have been my best, and compared to the decades I’ll spend poisoning my own children’s minds, they’re fickle and fleeting. Keep getting to know yourself. Keep your friends around. Leave your books in their bag, and keep reading the entertainment section of your bi-weekly satire rag.
