Entertainment Editor's Note 2/1

I came to a realization recently about the future of global culture. Drawing nearer each day, the death of the “secret” is almost completely inevitable. As we connect every news and media source to our Facebook while compartmentalizing each person we’ve met into our Droids and iPhones, we’re slowly publicising every aspect of our lives. Soon, a revolution against nationwide tyranny(much like the one being staged in Egypt) will be as easy as “creating an event” and tweeting it alongside a “#”.

It’s a beautiful thing. When everyone has reached the same level of exposure and globalization, combating sheer ignorance will become obsolete; the culture of lies is slowly fading. I’m convinced that some people are just wired to neglect the truth, even with friends, and with every status and picture revealing our truths we’ll teach each other some well-deserved lessons in honesty. You were at Tommy’s pounding shots when you said you’d be taking care of your birthing horse.

However, I admire the power of silence almost as much. No one can keep up with your entire stream of consciousness as it pours from your mouth, no matter how forthcoming, so pause and let them chew. My Utopian-inspired sense of optimism is meant to reflect directly upon myself; I use this note as a forum to muse not about the problems apart from me that need fixing, but rather to offer a collective thought from my bi-weekly soapbox. Hopefully, I’ve sparked some thought as the snow takes turns melting and freezing.

As always, you can finish the exchange by contacting me dylanbliss@hotmail.com.
