There are very few bands that know their audience as well as ADTR. They know their fans aren’t looking for thought-provoking lyrics or sonically challenging guitar riffs. They don’t seek lyrics or music as much as they crave raw emotion; which tends to be focused primarily on longing and missed chances.

In this respect, ADTR delivers exactly what fans want. The 10 tracks breeze by, delivering music that is simultaneously enjoyable and forgettable. Unlike their previous album, musical breakdowns are less frequent. Instead of the screaming that had previous accompanied them, they are now more likely to be led by the pop-punk style singing usually reserved for the token balled on each album.

“All I Want,” the album’s lead single and best song, carries the listener through familiar themes of the aforementioned longing accompanied with the backing gang vocals fans of this genre have come to expect. The other songs follow this formula, never exceeding four minutes in length.

In the end, A Day To Remember continues to provide its fans exactly what they want. As a band, they will last just as long as their fanbase does. They simply can’t expect it to grow.
