About The Dailyer Nebraskan

The Dailyer Nebraskan is a student-run satirical newspaper based out of the University of Nebraskan - Lincoln. It is similar in style to "The Onion," but with more focus on campus and regional events. The title of the publication is a play on the name of the "normal" student newspaper, "The Daily Nebraskan."

Carson Vaughan (carson@dailyernebraskan.com) led the effort to launch The Dailyer Nebraskan in the Fall of 2007, amassing 1100 petition signatures and finally convincing the UNL publications board to allocate $2,600 of the funds normally given to The Daily Nebraskan for the first three print issues of The Dailyer.

Since that time, through a combination of fundraising, donations, advertising, and additional funds from the UNL publications board, The Dailyer Nebraskan has published a total of 10 print issues. During the 2008/2009 school year, the newspaper will receive $12,000 in funds from student fees to continue its in-print operations.

During the Summer of 2009, writer Ben Plowman (ben@dailyernebraskan.com) put together the dailyernebraskan.com website to further the reach of the publication and also insure it against future funding problems.

Thank you so very much for your continued support of our modest publication.

Sincerely,
The Dailyer Nebraskan Staff
